SECTION A – Reservation and Rental Policy

  1. How old do I need to be to rent a car via LetzRent?

For renting out an AVIS self-drive car via LetzRent you must be 18 years of age or older; whereas for renting out a MyChoize self-drive car via LetzRent, you must be 21 years of age or older.

  1. How can I rent a car via LetzRent?

Please download our mobile application and enter the city followed by the dates and hours you desire to book the car. Then just hit search and your rental options will pop up on the screen! You can also use the additional available search filters like the Price Filter to customize your search and find the perfect match easily.

  1. How many hours in advance do I need to book my rental car?

As per the LetzRent booking policy, we require you to book your rental car at least 8 hours before for the self-drive car & at least 3 hours before for a chauffeur-driven car.

  1. Do I need to pick up and drop off the rental car from a particular point?

To maximize your convenience we will drop off and pick up the rental car from the address you give us at the time of booking. Please note that drop off and pick up from public places like metro stations and malls will not be possible. In addition, LetzRent offers you the option to pick up and drop off the car yourself as well. If you’d like to opt for this option, please do check out our app to see what the available pickup locations in your city are.

  1. Can I extend my reservation duration?

Yes, you can extend your reservation duration! Just let us know by calling the LetzRent customer care helpline – 9987933348.

  1. What charges are applicable if I return the rental car late?

For information about charges applicable upon returning the car late, please refer to the respective service providers’ Terms and Conditions. Please find the Terms and Conditions for AVIS here and click here for the MyChoize T&Cs respectively.

  1. What charges are applicable if I damage the car accidentally?

Charges levied upon you if you damage the car accidentally, are subject to the terms and conditions of the service provider whose car you are renting out. Please find the Terms and Conditions for AVIS here and click here for the MyChoize T&Cs respectively.

  1. What is the cancellation policy?

For MyChoize cars booked out via LetzRent, the processing fees levied on cancellation will depend upon the kind of booking (daily or hourly rental), and also how much in advance the cancellation is being made. For AVIS cars booked out via LetzRent, cancellation charges will apply based on how many hours in advance the cancellation is being issued and are mentioned here.

  1. What do I do if my booked vehicle does not arrive at the designated time or location?

We hope this does not happen to you. In the unlikely event wherein this does happen, please contact the customer support team at 9987933348.

  1. Can I bring my pet along with me in the rented vehicle?

Keeping in mind that some customers may be allergic to pets, an extra charge of Rs. 750 will be levied as a penalty if you travel with pets in your MyChoize car and an appropriate penalty will be charged if you travel with your pets in an AVIS car. In the latter case, the penalty will depend upon the kind of damages incurred as a result of your pet on the upholstery or other features of the vehicle.

SECTION B – Documentation

  1. What are the eligibility criteria for renting a self-drive car via LetzRent?

The eligibility criteria for renting a self-drive car via us are to be 18 years of age or older, have a valid Aadhar card, and a valid driving license.

  1. What kind of driver’s license do I require to book a self-drive rental car via LetzRent?

To book a self-drive car via LetzRent, you need to have an Indian Driver’s License or an International Driver’s Permit, for light motor vehicles, each of which will be assessed by the service providers’ professionals. An additional criterion to drive an AVIS vehicle is that your license needs to be held by you for at least 12 months.

  1. What documents should I keep handy while picking up my self-drive car?

For a self-drive car booked via LetzRent, you need to ensure you have your valid driving license and KYC Documents (comprising Photo ID and Address Proof – namely original passport/Aadhaar card). A copy of each of these documents must be submitted while picking up your self-drive car.

  1. Can I officially list a co-driver? What documents must the co-driver have?

As per MyChoize policy, you are required to submit your KYC documents along with your driving license in order to drive the rented vehicle. On the other hand, as per AVIS policy, in order to enlist a co-driver, you should ensure the co-driver has a valid driving license which is uploaded prior to the start of your journey. Please note it is the renter and not the co-driver who will be held responsible for any damages caused during the journey.

  1. Do I need to sign any documents to confirm my booking through LetzRent?

While LetzRent does not require any documents at the time of booking confirmation, we would require you to sign an agreement with the service provider at the time of pick up/delivery of the car.

SECTION C – Payment Information

  1. What modes of payment are applicable for cars rented via LetzRent?

The modes of payment applicable for booking cars via LetzRent are Netbanking, Credit Card, Debit Card, UPI, and Paytm.

  1. Is the rental cost subject to taxes?

Rental costs displayed on our mobile App are inclusive of taxes.

  1. Is it mandatory to give a security deposit?

Yes, it is mandatory to give a security deposit.

SECTION D – Useful information and support

  1. Can I book/hire a self-drive car for someone else?

For cars booked via LetzRent, you can do so. However, we require you to be present with the above-listed documents to pick up the rented car at the chosen location.

  1. What kind of number plates do rental cars booked through LetzRent have?

All self-drive cars have commercial number-plates. However, there is no need to worry as our service partners will provide you with all the necessary legal documents required to drive a commercial plate vehicle.

  1. What happens if a third party damages the rental car booked through LetzRent?

Damages will be deducted by the service provider from the security deposit itself. In case the damage is greater than the security deposit amount, insurance claims will be filed. Then, the customer will be liable to pay the damage costs that are not covered by the insurance, if any.

  1. Do I need to adhere to a special speed limit while renting a car via LetzRent?

While driving a self-drive car rented via LetzRent, please adhere to the Government mandated speed limits.

  1. What should I do if I have technical difficulties and the car breaks down?

  1. What fuel types can be opted for in cars rented out via LetzRent?

The kind of fuel (Diesel or Petrol) depends on the particular type of car model you are opting for and information regarding the same is easily available on our app.
